We continue to work with our neighbours Northern House Academy who are based across the road from us on South Parade. Northern House Academy is a primary school for pupils who have been identified as having Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties. Our pupils visit their classrooms weekly and offer support with class-based activities, and once a week a group of Northern House pupils comes to St Edward’s where our Sixth Formers offer a range of craft, toys and games for the pupils.

A few quotes from pupils that worked with Northern House pupils in Autumn term 2021

'I have learned how to communicate better with new people, as well as children with SEMH. There's still plenty of room for improvement in my skills, but I have seen improvement since the start of term.'

'I loved meeting the kids and playing different games with them and chatting to them. They were very sweet, kind and funny children and it was lovely to be able to see them every week.'

'Interacting with the children has been a truly eye opening experience, and I will definitely miss them especially the ones that I consistently played with across the term. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.'

'I have enjoyed growing connections and getting to know the children and hope to expand these relations further.'
