L6th pupils visit Cutteslowe Community Centre twice a week. They take soup and cake up to the Centre and they help serve it. They also help out with various activities including preparing sessions for the centre, assisting with lunches for the Seniors and helping with general day to day running of the venue where required.

After the first session the Senior’s Coordinator wrote to the students:

To the St Edward's students,

On behalf of the Cutteslowe Seniors, I should like to thank you and to say how much we enjoyed meeting you all.  Every day is precious when you are older and as the student reading the text pointed out-social isolation is a problem in Cutteslowe..The speaker who was booked had just contacted us to say he had tested positive for Covid, so it would have been something of a lost journey for everyone, had it not been for your up-lifting visit .

The soup and cakes were delicious and we hope you enjoyed meeting our group .We are happy to write to your Head Teacher and say what a credit you are to your school.

With best wishes
