Service

As a city school, we have the unique opportunity to open the doors into the real world and show our young people what possibilities exist outside the School gates for them to learn, develop, and contribute.

Through our Service Programme in the community our pupils learn the value of relationships and service to others. Lower Sixth pupils have the opportunity to visit and support local care homes, community garden centres, primary schools, food larders, charity shops and more. These partnerships allow our pupils an insight into other people’s worlds and an opportunity to find talent and confidence within themselves. Pupils enjoy working with our neighbours and partners away from School, contributing positively to our city and community.

6th Form Service - Learning Objectives

  • To recognise that everyone has innate skills and abilities and to challenge ourselves to learn new skills and gain new experiences
  • To work collaboratively with others generating a community of learners
  • To recognise and understand that we are all different and can choose the actions we take
  • To show perseverance and commitment and truly develop self-agency
