St Edwards, in partnership with Oxford Hawks Hockey Club, hosted their first ‘Celebration of Hockey’ tournament in December 2021. Over 190 pupils attended from 4 local primary Schools. All of the schools involved have been receiving hockey coaching from either St Edward’s or Oxford Hawks as part of Project 2000, in which Hawks have set an initial target of getting 2000 hours of hockey a year into Schools that do not play already.
 
The session was based across our two astroturf pitches and was fun, fast paced and the pupils seemed to have a great time, and the St Edward’s Sports Leaders (pictured below) did an excellent job of umpiring. Each pupil went home with a medal and a muffin. The next tournament will be held at Oxford Hawks on Wednesday 23^rd March 2022.
