It was a pleasure to host the Refugee Resource Rovers in collaboration with Asylum Welcome, Oxford United in the Community, and Refugee Resource on Tuesday. The game was played at the Cherwell School, who were kind enough to allow us to use their facilities for the match. It was a very physical and fast paced game, Refugee Resource Rovers were very much up for the match, and it showed in the way the game started. Our Teddies team was a mixture of Seniors and U16s. It was a competitive game in which Teddies played very well and rose to the occasion playing a strong team. Special mention to the under 16s who stepped up and played very well. We managed to go 2-1 up with a great goal from James Lin. Before a last-minute equaliser was scored by the opposition which saw the game finish 2-2. A great experience for the Teddies players and a great afternoon hosting Asylum Welcome, wrapped up with pizza and donuts. Bring on next year!
