On Monday 6th December, Peter Higgins spoke at School Assembly. He is the co-founder of Charles Tyrwhitt Shirts, and is also an international board director of Mary’s Meals, a charity which provides meals for more than 2 million of the world’s poorest children every day that they attend school. Mary’s meals mugs have been given to each Boarding House and in a way to introduce philanthropy to our pupils, he has has challenged them to do whatever they can to raise just £9 each. £9 is what it costs the charity to provide food for one child for an entire year. Peter made the important point that employers are looking for pupils who have done something else during their time at school, and organising fundraising projects for Mary’s Meals could be one such way of doing this.
