Rachel and Ellie from the Beyond Teddies Team were delighted to be able to provide a fun and interactive First Aid workshop to the lovely Year 4 pupils of New Marston Primary School earlier this month. Pupils learnt what to do in an emergency and how to carry out a primary survey. They carried out ‘hands only’ CPR on the manikins, put each other in the recovery position, bandaged each other up and were shown how to use a defibrillator and learnt when you would use one. Rachel Moffatt, Partnerships Manager, said ‘It is so important that pupils learn basic First Aid from an early age. The aim is to make First Aid sessions in Primary Schools fun and not scary so it is something that pupils will be happy to keep learning as they get older and into adult life’.
