Tuesday 7th June, 6.30pm: 'The Authenticity Project' by Clare Pooley

Six strangers with one thing in common: their lives aren't always what they make them out to be. What would happen if they told the truth instead?

Julian Jessop is tired of hiding the deep loneliness he feels. So he begins The Authenticity Project - a small green notebook containing the truth about his life. Leaving the notebook on a table in his friendly neighbourhood cafe, Julian never expects Monica, the owner, to track him down after finding it. Or that she'll be inspired to write down her own story. Little do they realise that such small acts of honesty hold the power to impact all those who discover the notebook and change their lives completely.

A Review of Book Club

'Having been fortunate to spend seven and a half years in Paris three floors above our son and his family in a delightful Parisian neighborhood, our lives intertwined daily with our grandchildren. Two years ago, it was time to come back to California where good friends welcomed us, and we began our adjustment to life absent the sound of happy young voices and footsteps racing up the stairs to see us. Early spring we learned of our granddaughter’s acceptance to St. Edwards for this fall, and I, having been in love with England and its rich history since I picked up my first book on the Plantagenet kings in high-school, was thrilled for her. I learned that there was a “Teddies” book group, and being an avid reader, I reached out to see if I could join. Not only would I have the pleasure of meeting interesting women from across the pond and reading what they were reading, but I also would be walking along side my granddaughter as she begins her new school experience.'
