Before Christmas, a campaign was launched with Asylum Welcome to try and get seasonal gifts to vulnerable refugees in Oxfordshire. We were overwhelmed with the response and would like to say a huge thank you to the 93 Teddies families who carefully chose, bought, wrapped and delivered cards and presents to 253 well-deserving and incredibly grateful families and individuals.

We received many direct messages of thanks when we dropped off presents and by text message too; one lovely thank you message from a refugee family said: 'I'm a mother of 2 boys (age 6 and 8 yrs old). Yesterday me and my boys we received some gifts...I got speechless from happiness, a big thank you from the bottom of my heart.'

Dr Gilberto Estrada Harris, Fundraising, Development and Communications Manager at Asylum Welcome told us:  ‘Our clients have come back to us incredibly happy and grateful to you all for thinking about them and organising such a beautiful merry Christmas. Thank you so much once again. This support will enable us to continue providing a welcoming, safe and supportive environment for refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants – many of whom have faced exceptional challenges throughout the pandemic. Your support is invaluable in allowing us to continue our vital work.’
